About, sources and privacy

What the labels mean

Confirmed means the date, time and place are supported by an organizer or official source. It is not a guarantee of attendance or availability. Unconfirmed events are credible public listings that still need a check; the card says what.

English friendly, Not English friendly and English unknown describe what the organizer, or the site editor, has said about English at the event. The card says which. Genuine language-exchange events are shown as English friendly under an owner-approved site policy, and the card says so; an organizer’s own statement always takes precedence, and a stated language restriction stays visible. Attendees’ reports are shown separately as community reports and never change the label on their own.

Translation is separate. An English title or a translated page does not make an event English friendly. Details marked “Translated” were translated from Chinese with the original shown for checking; “Listing not yet translated” means the Chinese original is shown until a translation is available.

Reader submissions are published only when the organizer page they link to supports the name, date, time and place. This site does not list every event in Kaohsiung.

Corrections

Open an event and choose “Suggest a correction”. A correction changes a listing only when the organizer’s own page supports it, and it applies to that date only; earlier values are kept in a visible note. Reports from attendees are kept and, for English, shown separately. Nothing is cancelled or removed because of a report alone.

Privacy

No accounts, no cookies, no analytics and no advertising scripts. Submissions and corrections are stored privately for checking and contain no names or contact details; a one-way scrambled identifier of the sender’s connection is kept only to limit spam. Text and links you send are treated as information to check, never as instructions.

Sponsorship

Listing an event is free. Sponsor placements, when there are any, sit beside or below the calendar, are labelled “Sponsored” or “Advertisement”, and never change which events are listed, whether they are Confirmed, the English labels or the order. Sponsorship is not active yet.
